The Zanzibar International Film Festival recently announced that it will be honouring the top talent in East Africa during its upcoming celebration. They alongside Trace Mziki want the rest of the continent to know just how the East side is such a hotbed of talent.
The East African Music Video Award is a new category that will be paying tribute to the directors and the producers who light up the region and will not just be a celebration of what a quality video is all about, but the teams that work so feverishly behind the scenes to get it all going.
A music video is no longer just a three-minute edit down of random visuals – but can be as striking and as evocative as a feature length film.
A panel of judges from the TRACE Mziki selection committee will select the final nominees from all videos submitted and these videos will be screened throughout the festival ahead of the main evening’s show in the Old Fort Amphitheater. A final winner will be announced on the closing night of the Festival.
Think your project has what it takes?
All East African artists, as well as video producers and directors, are encouraged to submit their videos via the submission form on www.ziff.or.tz in the section East African Video Music Competition and then send the form and your video link to email@example.com
