YouTube Launches Premium Packages In Kenya

Video sharing platform, YouTube is launching two new products to the Kenyan, Senegal and Ghana audiences.

“We’re excited to announce that YouTube Premium and YouTube Music will be available in Kenya, Senegal, and Ghana starting December 5.” Read a release from the platform.

The products with memberships from KES 499.00 per month to KES 949.00 per month offer users new features.

The platform also has a KES 289.00 per month student option, however annual verification is required.

YouTube Music

According to the platform; YouTube Music app has a dedicated music streaming service that offers more than 100 million official tracks, as well as a vast catalog of live performances, music videos, remixes, podcasts and rare tracks that you won’t find anywhere else.

“Whether you want to listen to the latest tracks from popular artists like Sauti Sol, Burna Boy and Tems, or discover new indie talents like Karun and Xenia Manasseh, it’s all here! You will also find albums from music giants, like X&Y.”


Some of the features on YouTube Music, include;

Smart search, letting you find songs with just a few lyrics.

Activity bar with quick access to personalized playlists and mixes for all occasions.

Explore tab which allows you to discover the best of new releases and popular titles.

The Similar tab, offering musical content based on the song you are currently listening to.

Synced Lyrics which lets you follow the lyrics of the song you’re listening to, and High-quality music recommendations thanks to Google’s smart features.

YouTube Premium

On YouTube Premium subscribers have access to YouTube Music, as well as other features including; ad-free watching, offline and background plays.
