Controversial media personality Xtian Dela has officially stepped down from the Westlands parliamentary race.
In a lengthy detailed video published online, an emotional Dela revealed that he would not be vying for the seat anymore because of three reasons.
“The hardest thing for any man to do is to number one apologize and number two is to throw in the towel and just say I’m done. Let me start by apologizing. I just want to take this chance to apologize to each and every person who has been supporting me and believing we could actually fight for change and start change in this country, win Westlands and win the hearts of many young people. Get guys to vie and win. It is sad that I have to drop out. I can’t! I’m sorry to all of you guys,” he began by saying.

His first reason reason for dropping out of the much-contested parliamentary seat is because he is broke. He revealed that he would need around 30 million to win the seat.
”Number one is I’m broke. I discovered in this country you need money to vie, you need money to make change, you need money for people to vote for you, you need money for anything to move and to work and I’m young. So I don’t have money I won’t lie to myself or say I will waste my life savings all these 15 years I have worked so hard I just go pour out…. I can’t do that,” he said.
Dela’s second reason is because he claims that Kenyans are not ready for change, that they are not tired enough.
“Second reason I’m dropping out is because Kenyans are not ready for change. Kenyans are not fed up…You are not. If you guys were ready for change I think young people would stop hating and talk about issues that actually affect them,” said Xtian.

“The third reason why I’m stepping down is because the cyberbullying is getting out of hand. It was funny when it started but now it has gotten out of hand to the point I can’t even risk putting my baby’s face on the internet. Now I’m hiding everything about me because everything you see you are just hating,” he revealed.
Xtian Dela declared interest in vying for the Westlands MP seat in May last year.
“Let’s show them the power of Social Media and the power of the youth in Kenya who are tired of old and useless politicians!” the blogger charged in his declaration announcement.
