Women In Film Awards 2021: Sarah Hassan Bags Best Newcomer Producer Award

Talented actress and producer Sarah Hassan has emerged among the winners in the just-concluded Women in Film Award.

Breaking the news on her social media page, Sarah thanked everyone who voted for her expressing how grateful she is to have received the award.

“Got some fantastic news last night🙆🏾‍♀️😃🎉 Thank you to every single one of you who voted🤗 I truly appreciate you🧡 #WIFA2021” she wrote

The celebrated actress was nominated under the Best Newcomer Producer category alongside 4 others. Some of the films she produced include 40 sticks, Plan B, Reflections & The Company you keep; with the recently released 40 sticks making it to Netflix.

The unveiling of the winners for the 2nd Edition of Women in Film Award took place on 10th March at Kenya national theatre with this year’s theme being “The Woman Filmmaker Changing The Game”.

According to the organizers of this award, the main objective is to empower women by recognizing and appreciating woman making an impact within and beyond the film industry

“There’s a need for a festival that affords women of any background the chance to be showcased in a truly empowering light.” Reads part of their text on their platform

Apart from this recent achievement, Sarah has previously won several awards locally as well as at the international level.
