Nigerian singer Wizkid has done a few collabos with boy band Sauti Sol that have never seen the light.
The singer recently gave a vague explanation on why songs haven’t been released despite the fact that they continue to pill up.
“It’s true that we haven’t released anything yet but I will tell you this, we are still recording. We already have like five, six songs together that we are working on and many more to come,” he said in an interview with Daily Nation.
Wizkid stated that he visits the studio with the singers almost every time he’s in the country.
The superstar has become a common figure in the country from visiting almost quarterly.
“Oh yes! I am always in studio with Sauti Sol every time I am here, creating art with those talented guys; they are amazing. I love their sound and that’s why I am excited about this trip – because we still have some work,” he said.
On why he has been in the country a lot of times, Wizkid said:
“I have some amazing friends in this country, that’s why whenever I receive a call to come here I never hesitate to come down; I’ve never thought twice about it,” he said.
“Besides, my team and I did some research and realised most of my fans are Kenyans and Nigerians — that’s why I don’t take such visits for granted.”
