What’s Hot In The 254 Music Scene

Timmy T Dat Feat Sudi Boy- Zile Mbili

Following their 2016 hit Oromo the two gentlemen are back in the booth for 2017 and have pulled off another one – Zile Mbili.  This is their latest collaborative effort, and it shows growth and chemistry in the jam.  They’ve used Swahili to express about two women driving them crazy – it is an interesting listen. Timmy also switched to Dholuo on the last verse giving the jam some diversity. The jam is produced by Bizzy B while the video is directed by Enos Olik. With the bounce on the record, it is clearly for the ladies and club. I’d rate it at 7/10.

Wangechi Feat Damian Soul

This record is one perfect 254 and 256 musical match “Above The bass”. I love the versatility on the table brought by Wangechi on her lyrics, Damian has his Swahili verse well done plus his voice is a major sallable constituent. The jam falls on alternative rap, distinct production from Calvo Mistari and Ambrose of Mandugu Digital Tanzania branch. The jam will take you through various emotions but it’s a wonderful performance jam.

Bebe Cool Feat Sauti Sol

This is a perfect mash of melodies, husky voices, language, style and above all perfect musical team up. We know Bebe Cool from his ragga infused style who kicked off his career in the 254 before returning to his native country Uganda. He teamed with the boy band Sauti Sol on “Mbozi Zamalwa” and I can say it is a masterpiece. The perfect blend of Swahili and Luganda gives it flavor and edge. This will be bonified crossover hit for East Africa. one time for Sauti Sol for not resting and making sure their name is solid in the region.
