What You Need To Know About The Connected Kenya Summit 2018

Yesterday (September, 20th) the Cabinet Secretary for ICT Joe Mucheru launched the 2018 Connected ICT Innovation Awards which will this year be held at the Bomas of Kenya from 22nd – 24th October. This is a change of venue from the Coast where the event has been held for the last 10 years.

The summit has for the last decade brought together techies, corporate executives and ICT policymakers as they celebrate young Kenyan innovators.

Since it’s inauguration in 2011, the platform has awarded 45 ICT products.

This year’s solutions should be in line to solve the government’s Big 4 Agenda issues. “Technology has a significant role to play in the Big 4 and I look forward to seeing how we can innovate across manufacturing, healthcare, housing and food security.” ICT CS Joe Mucheru.

Telkom Kenya who has been in the process of rebranding from Orange are the title sponsors.

The event’s theme will be “Building for Prosperity” and will have over 1000 delegates from East Africa.

Applications for the Innovators award are open to Kenyan startups and innovators through www.connected.go.ke. Interested applicants are invited to visit the ICT Authority’s social media platforms for details.
