Zen Garden’s Fashion High Tea, 9th edition is coming up on the 16th of February and we are already feverish with excitement at what the team responsible for putting together this flashy afternoon of fashion, food and fun have in store for us
The High Tea Designers line is always impressive and this year is no different. The brands showcasing this year are from Kenya, India, Germany, Singapore and the United Kingdom whose work we have seen before such as Afrostreet Kollections and Kipato Unbranded and newer names such as Zefyros by Lola. There’ll be plenty to see on the runway for sure. Get ready to splurge too.
Kenyan top quality hair company Lily Hairline who sell some fabulous wigs are part of the show this year.
Dorothy Oliech and the Mochez Models outfit execute the runway showcases flawlessly and the versatile models who are already stunning to look at end the show with a lively performance.
Year in year out the restaurant prepares a feast of delicious treats for guests to enjoy during the event. What to expect: the lavish menu includes Delicious Pastries, Muffins, Cupcakes, Sushi Bar on Ice, Burger Stations, Cheese Corners and Savory Selections.
Top alcohol brands come on board and this means you can enjoy the best! Heineken, Moet et Chandon, Skyy Vodka, Campari, Famous Grouse, Patron are some. This year’s event will mainly have high end Diageo Brands such as Ciroc, Don Julio, Tanqueray and Singleton.
The organizers describe the Fashion High Tea as, “a high profile event attended by the upwardly mobile discerning professional, to indulge in their favorite pastimes, i.e. fashion, shopping and socializing while indulging in luxury and sophistication atmosphere.” That pretty much sums it up.
You will never see so many sharply dressed men and women in Nairobi at the same place! It must be hard to award the best dressed individuals which is usually another highlight. It is not too late to come up with a killer outfit to try and clinch this price, just in case you haven’t already. Last year’s winners were media personalities Mandii Sarro and Michael Makori.
The annual event is hosted to support various charitable causes. They have donated to Pumwani Hospital, Kenyatta Hospital; Cancer Ward, various children homes among other notable charities. This year’s proceeds go to “The Nest” a Project for the Rescue, Rehabilitation and Integration of Children in Conflict with the Law & Children of Imprisoned Mothers. http://www.thenesthome.org
Big prices to be won in the raffles such as air tickets and dinner vouchers. Do not turn down the raffles as it could just be your lucky day.
