Walker Town Lights Up Nairobi Over The Weekend

The Walker Town concert finally went down at the Uhuru Gardens last Saturday. As promised, the show delivered unforgettable electrifying sets from artists and DJs. Kicking off at 4:00 PM amidst a charged atmosphere of anticipation, the opening acts, Vijana Barubaru, lit up the stage. The eclectic duo performed chart-toppers like “Sasa Hivi,” “Kale Kadance,” “Pillow Talk,” and “Romantic Call.”

Later, DJ Linsey and DJ Pierra Makena took over, expertly curating sets that kept the energy soaring. Soon after, Boutross, the “Angela” hit-maker, wowed the crowd with his enthralling performance, setting the stage for the dynamic South African DJ duo TxC, who delivered a masterclass in Amapiano mixes and dance. Through the night, the bubbly event hosts Kwambox and BV Accurate kept the audience captivated with their infectious energy.

Walker Town Headliners Fally Ipupa, Tiwa Savage & Nyashinski

The evening reached its climax as the main headliners took the spotlight. Congolese rhumba sensation Fally Ipupa set the stage ablaze with hits like “Mayday,” “Bloque,” “Eloko Oyo,” “SL,” and “Maria PM,” while Tiwa Savage, the Afrobeats star, radiated energy and passion with hits like “Who is your guy?” “Ma Lo,” and her all-time fan favorite, “Somebody’s Son.”

Closing the night, Kenyan music icon Nyashinski, Johnnie Walker’s brand ambassador, delivered a stellar performance, deeply connecting with the audience. Nyashinki performed a good mix of both his older and latest catalogue such as “Malaika,” “Mungu Pekee,” “Beautiful,” “Bebi Bebi” and “Hapo Tu.”

The grand finale featured DJ Grauchi’s powerful mixes, concluding the exceptional concert experience. This Walker Town edition was more than just a musical extravaganza. The concert was also a cultural journey, inviting attendees to explore a fusion of engaging activities including music, art, fashion, gaming, and culinary delights in an authentically immersive atmosphere. Walker Town Nairobi marked the concert’s first year anniversary. The show lived up to the hype leaving an indelible mark on the Kenyan 2023 concert landscape.
