Victoria Kimani Scoops An AFRIMMA Award

09 October of 2017 by

The 4th edition of the African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA) took place Sunday night at the House Of Blues Dallas, Texas. The award show seeks to promote rich African music beyond Africa as well as giving a performance platform to the various acts.

Among the nominees in the various categories, Kenyan songstress Victoria Kimani scooped the eminent Best Female East Africa beating the likes of Vanessa Mdee and Lady Jaydee. She beat Akothee as well who is the winner of the same category in 2016. She, however, did not scoop the Video Of The Year category as Fallu Ipupa beat her to it.

This is big news a she is the only Kenyan to scoop an award out of all the other nominations. Other Kenyans nominated on various Categories Like Sauti Sol, Avril, Dj Joe Mfalme, Dj Creme did not garner enough votes to take the crown home.

Taking it to her Instagram account, she wrote, “Kenya we got one! Best Female East African Artist! Asante Sana! Thank you for voting!”
