Singer, songwriter, Victoria Kimani is quickly cementing her position as Kenya’s biggest musical export in 2017. She has expanded her network of collaborations in Africa to sing with the likes of Khuli Chana, Ommy Dimpoz, M.I, Phyno, Donald, Sarkodie, Bucie, and now she has scored a big one.
Her latest visual to the hit single ‘China Love’ features one half of Pop Stars R.City. Not every African artist has access to such stars let alone record and shoot a video with stars who got the pop clout as R.City. Victoria seems to have the connections and she did not disappoint in the delivery of China Love.
The video begins with an aerial sprawl view of the Great Wall of China and is littered with snapshots of various Chinese establishments and monuments. She got Chinese machomen as well in the video and kept the theme as cultured.
Victoria and Theron Of R.City mesh perfectly melodically and are convincing enough. Victoria sings her heart out on ‘plastic’ love which blends with our thinking that ‘Made in China’ is fake and hence she needs an original love. Theron assures her that he knows what she likes and she needs.
This jam is a perfect watch/listen and it might get Victoria the much needed international exposure.
