#UnKutTheCypher: The Dopest Rappers Set To Drop Bars!

2016 has been such a great year for Hip Hop. It started off with the “King” battle that led to a really dope performance by Juliani, Kayvo Kforce, Kaa La Moto and more at Alliance Francaise.

From that point there have been full projects (and some very nice singles here and there) being released by various artists and the introduction of new acts in the game as well.

The So Gone Challenge, started by American rapper, Chance, which saw some Kenyan rappers weigh in and represent as well up to the recent fiasco of Femi One calling out some female rappers and then responses from all over, even from those who weren’t mentioned.

It is for this reason that I thought it would be a great idea to wrap up the year with a cypher featuring all the new school acts that you need to look out for in the coming year, if you haven’t been paying attention this year. We have some familiar names (if you’re a “REAL Hip Hop head” you should know more than half the list), guys that we already know and probably love such as Shappaman, Kayvo Kforce, PRO (whose episode on ACCESS you should check out here), Shukid, Poppa Don, Ace Tha Don, Odinareh Bingwa all the way from Diani, Shukid, Kevin Grands to name but a few while introducing some new names; Barak Jacuzzi, who is looking into dropping a tape in the new year, Steph Kapela, Fifi Mild, Lincoln Hopkins, Sphynx and more.

These are rappers that I believe, are the future of Kenyan Hip Hop and are incredibly gifted.

The total list of rappers adds up to 30 so just to spice it up, there will be different beats from different producers in the 254 and from Mzanzi as well.

It’s an invite only gig so to book a slot to come watch your fave rapper drop some bars as well as to chat them up, drop me an email on rubyvivienne@gmail.com. There are limited slots.

Come strapped with your drink of choice and of course, expect to see some of the biggest Hip Hop supporters in the Kenyan music industry at the gig.

Gates open at 1 p.m. till late!
