TV Hit Cobra Squad To Make A return, Alfred Mutua To Star As President

TV hit series “Cobra Squad” is set to make a return soon, says Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua.

Mutua, the director of the 2008 program that became a huge hit on Kenyan TV, said that he is currently looking at how they can make a grand comeback before mid next year.

The governor claims that he plans to star as the president in the film which he hopes will be ready before the elections.

“I have to feature in the next Cobra Squad, I have to play the role of a president as I prepare for being the 5th President of the Republic of Kenya,” Mutua said.

He added that the film will not be very long as it is meant to bring back memories of the first Cobra Squad.

“I am working on producing a new Cobra Squad…maybe just 1 hour. I can not do a full movie… it is just to remind people how it used to be.”

Mutua, who had visited Kiss FM for an interview with Jalango and Kamene, further promised to continue making more movies even when elected as president of Kenya.

“This life you can do many things… you don’t have to limit yourself. One of the reasons I am here today is because I have been versatile, am able to do many things,” he said.

“I bought my house with money from cobra squad… a very nice house.”

In a previous interview a few years ago, Mutua confessed that the popular series, which was his first production, netted him a cool Ksh 25 million.

“I started my own company at the age of 19 years; where I formed a company then left the country. When I came back I started ‘Cobra Squad’ where the first series earned me Sh25 million and the next film earned me Sh11 million,” he said.
