Nairobi’s vibrant and dynamic fashion scene is set to come alive once again as Tribal Chic 2024 nears. This will be the 13th edition of the city’s premier fashion event. Under the theme, “African Royalty,” this showcase promises to be a visual and cultural feast, seamlessly aligning with the aesthetic ethos of Tribe Hotel. The event takes place on the 3rd of February 2024 at the prestigious Tribe Hotel.
Speaking about the upcoming showcase, Mike Mwangi, General Manager of Tribe Hotel, noted, “Our objective is to craft unforgettable experiences for our patrons that encapsulate the artistry, heritage, and dynamism of Nairobi. We are more than a boutique hotel; we are the quintessential Kenyan destination.”
Fans can expect nothing but a stellar lineup of both local and international designers on the Tribal Chic runway. The designers include: Afrowema, Aulgah Nato, 1407 Style, Safarahh, Nashipai Leather, Studio Namnyak, Itikadi, Okana, Reinas Gowns, Wakianda, Kiarie Afrika, Ankole Luxury, Bana the Brand, and Aert Fashion.
Tickets for the Tribal Chic 2024 are now on sale at Ticket Sasa. Early bird tickets are retailing at KES 10,000 and tickets at the door for KES 12,000. Each ticket includes a welcome drink courtesy of Paradiso (ranked No. 4 on the World’s 50 Best Bars 2023 list), canapés, a gift bag, admission to the fashion show, access to pop-up boutiques featuring the runway collections, and entrance to the after-party at Hero Bar & Restaurant.
Tribal Chic 2023
The 2024 edition follows a successful show last year that was all about sustainable fashion. On the catwalk were exclusive pieces from eco-friendly materials, meticulously designed by fashion artists devoted to maintaining a sustainable value chain and ethical labor practices. Some of the designers who showcased include Sors Studio, Wildlife Works, Studio Namnyak, African Lifestyle Hub, Seamline Atelier, Katush, Deepa Dosaja, Aulgah Nato, Poetic Trends, Vinkay Clothing, Koki Designs, Shenu Hooda, Lakira, KikoRomeo, We are NBO and Mariam Couture.
Continuing its commitment to sustainability from the previous year’s Tribal Chic theme, Tribe Hotel employs efficient systems that significantly reduce power consumption by over 80%. Tribe Hotel was also the first in Nairobi to introduce an Electric Vehicle fleet, underscoring its dedication to emission reduction.
