We are honestly still debating whether we were more impressed by what we saw on or off the runway at the last Tribal Chic. If you are wondering whether this is a good or a bad thing; it’s definitely a good thing. At this rate, Tribal Chic might as well rebrand into a fully-fledged fashion festival or fashion week coz one night is too short to take in all of the splendour. That seems like a step in the right direction after such an amazing 10th year anniversary, right?
On the runway, the various designers took our eyes and minds to different places with designs that ranged from elegant and minimalistic to edgy and futuristic. Fashion aside; the choreography, makeup and general performance by all the models was praiseworthy.
Off the runway it was hard to keep up with what Kenyan media personalities and fashion lovers were wearing. Everyone looked like a million bucks. What’s even more heartwarming is the number of locally made outfits we saw. Examples include Naila Ntei in Jamil Walji, Sonal Kotak in StylebyNeomi, Silvia Njoki in Fiona Kay and Amar Jonathan in Monoxrome.
