Food plus music is pretty much the ultimate collaboration. Across the globe – and multiple times this year alone in Kenya, the delicious marriage between the two has given the usual social or networking event a hell of a lot more flavour.
And in this case, the musical and fashion icon from South Africa, Toya Delazy will add that extra bit of sauce to what should be a massive event.
The singer, known for hits such as Nu High, Love in the Air and Heart is set to perform at Villaggio Africa – the newest Food and Beverage festival to hit the 254. It all goes down this Sunday 30th October at Treehouse from 10 am through to 8 pm. Her stop over in Nairobi is part of her ‘Rocking the City’ tour across Africa.
And she’s super happy to be here – not just for the fans, but the food as well: ” I’m so excited to come meet my fans and sample some great Kenyan cuisine…. [as well as perform] songs off all my albums… expect some great South African jazz, electro- hip hop sounds….”

Toya Delazy has a crazy track record within the industry. She is a BET nominee for Best International Act as well as a four time South Africa Music Award winner. That plus the reception to her first two albums – Due Drop in 2012 as well as Ascension in 2014 has allowed her to travel worldwide on some pretty big stages. So she is ready to bring it!
That said, it’s a festival, which means that there will be many other top stars across various genres on stage, including Octopizzo, G Money, Jack Rooster, Tetu Shania and Labdi Ormesby!
