Top Kenyan Ladies Who Have Made It to The OkayAfrica 100 Women List

Women’s Day is here and OkayAfrica has just released its 2019 Honeree list. OkayAfrica is an online media platform that focuses on African culture, music and politics. The 100 Women project by
OkayAfrica is a campaign that seeks to to pay homage to 100 women of excellence in various fields such as Sports, Arts, Media, Music, Business, Style & Beauty, Politics, STEM, Literature and Film.

The women are selected based on their impact and influence as change agents and innovators in their respective industries. The 2019 list of this campaign which will be the third edition for this project, is focused on the youth. A number of Kenyan women made it to this prestigious list. These ladies include: Film Maker Wanuri Kahiu, Boxer Fatuma Zarika, Curator Kawira Mwirichia and Computer scientist Dr Chao Mbogo.

I am so honored to be featured in the 2019 @OkayAfrica 100 women list, among other phenomenal women in African diaspora, for the contribution of my work to the community. Thank you for amplifying our voices & showcasing our work.

Other women in the 2019 list include British Nigerian film director, producer and writer, Jenn Nkiru, South African singers Sho Madjozi and Shekhinah, American Author Tiffany Aliche, Tanzanian Media Personality Doreen Peter Noni and Australian Model Duckie Thot among others.

Adelle Onyango, Simi Sola, Tiwa Savage, Mitchelle Ntalami, Isis Nyong’o, Angélique Kidjo, Winnie Okoth, Jane Mukami, Zintle  Ntshikila, Joy Chebet Bii, and Kah Walla are some of the women who have been in the previous lists of this project.
