Things Fall Apart In The Final Episode Of Kenyan Thriller Series ‘Igiza’

Showmax Original thriller series Igiza has finally come to an end after 13 exhilarating episodes. Its finale features plot twists and shocking revelations of some unexpected deaths that would make any top Hollywood thriller proud of the showdown.

Igiza’s storyline follows the chaotic lives of twins Linda and Nicole (both played by Serah Ndanu). While Linda is a rich and successful businesswoman, Nicole is a jailbird. The story takes a dramatic turn when Linda is duped by hTeser fugitive twin Nicole and sent to prison while Nicole takes over her life. No one, not even Linda’s husband Reggie (played by Kevin Samuel), could tell that Nicole is imposter.

This Kenyan series has been praised by Twitter fans for Serah’s dual portrayal of Linda and Nicole. One of the fans 40 Sticks is producer Fakii Liwali. He wrote, “We the fans of #IgizaShowmax confer upon Serah Teshna a Masters in Duality. Fakii further suggested that fans need a BTS special on how the show shot the scenes with both Linda and Nicole.

Another fan wrote: “Igiza is a real drug. You get home and it is the first thing you have to watch on a Monday! The twists in this show are just out of this world.”

In her review, The Standard critic Winnie Makena praised the cast as one of the show’s strong points. She also noted that Serah’s roles both as a wealthy and successful businesswoman and ghetto-bred jailbird were compelling.

Apart from Serah Teshna, the film also stars top acting talent such as Blessing Lunga’ho, Kevin Samuel, Ainea Ojiambo, Sheila Ndanu, Keith Chuaga, and Eddie Mbugua to mention a few.

Since its launch in May this year, the Kenyan series has quickly become a fan favorite. According to Showmax, Igiza was the most popular show among Showmax subscribers in Kenya when it premiered in May 2022, and remained at the top or 13 consecutive weeks.
