The Real Housewives Of Nairobi Speak On What To Expect Ahead of Show Premiere

The Real Housewives of Nairobi is finally hitting the screens this week after some much hype and anticipation. This reality show is set to air on Showmax on Thursday 24th February. It will follow the lives of the 5 influential and successful cast members – Susan Kaittany, Sonal Maherali, Vera Sidika, Minne Kariuki, and Lisa Christoffersen.

Speaking during the exclusive Real Housewives of Nairobi screening held at Windsor yesterday, the housewives stated that fans can expect an authentic show. “Minne keeps it real. I don’t live a fake life as it is not sustainable. I am also bold and unlike my sugar baby role in Single Kiasi, in real life that is not who I am. Despite being the youngest in the cast, I am a strong, bold, and confident woman. I am an alpha who doesn’t run in packs and I am nobody’s minion.” Said Minne Kariuki.

Lisa Christoffersen also chimed in by saying. “Expect to see me doing a lot of things that I am passionate about in life. Motorsport rallying is one of them. I will be showing the viewers how amazing Kenya is as I consider myself a brand ambassador for Kenya. This is basically an opportunity for viewers to see Kenya through the eyes of Lisa.”

Susan Kaittany

Susan Kaittany is a beauty and lifestyle entrepreneur, lawyer, and travel agent. She is the owner of the popular beauty Salon Posh Palace and Scents shop Polish. Susan describes herself as posh, bold, and savage.

“Real Housewives of Nairobi fans can expect nothing but spice and glam from Susan in the show. “I’ll be dishing style, I’ll be dishing fashion, and of course you know, I’ll be dishing drama, but not too much, kidogo tu. Just a bit of spice and glam so you better be ready.” Said the sassy businesswoman.

Sonal Maherali

Sonal Maherali is a luxury influencer, fashion collector, and entrepreneur. Despite her softspoken nature Sonal says that she doesn’t hesitate to mark her territory. Hence her nicknames Generalli Simba and Queen of the African Savanna. “I don’t do drama, I only do style and class but if need be, I break the glass,” she declared, hinting at what fans can expect from her as The Real Housewives of Nairobi.

Sonal also says that fans should expect her to address issues such as mental health on the show. “I’ve been very brave to speak about mental health on the show, as one who suffers from depression and anxiety. This is a global problem which I am addressing, and I am not ashamed, especially if it helps anyone out there to seek help. There is no shame in not being okay. This is one thing that I’m proud that I have addressed on The Real Housewives of Nairobi, and that I will continue addressing.”

Vera Sidika

Vera Sidika is not new to the spotlight as is one of the most talked about people in Kenya. She is a media personality, entrepreneur, and recently, a musician. Vera is married to singer Brown Mauzo with whom they have 1 child – Asia Brown.

“I’m the most googled celebrity in this country, more than the president, and that’s on, period!” She says. Vera further adds that she is misunderstood at most times. “I think my fans expect to see so much drama; that’s what people think when they hear the name Vera Sidika. They just think, “Oh my God, the drama is just too much.” But the funniest thing is that I’m a very sweet person, an amazing mum, and a great wife, and I think that’s the side that most Kenyans don’t get to see. This is going to be a different book because what they expect wouldn’t be as much as what they’ll get to see. I’ve been very misunderstood a couple of times and I think this is a very great space for people to get to know Vera and be the judge.”

Minne Kariuki

Minne Kariuki is an actress and business lady. She plays the role of Mariah on the Showmax drama series Single Kiasi and has also been featured in other popular series such as Maempress and Tabasamu. The actress is married to Jaguar’s former manager and businessman Charles Muigai with whom they have 2 daughters.

Minne will be serving shade, drama, and fashion as she proudly refers to herself as the queen of shade. According to Minne, you should watch this show because it has so much to offer. “The ladies have great personalities that are different and lovable. This franchise is all about personality and also lifestyle, and of course as The Real Housewives of Nairobi, we have the lifestyle, the fashion, we bring it all. This being the first franchise in East Africa, we also show what the region has to offer. Nairobi is such a beautiful and unique city to showcase – the only capital city in the world with a national park. And we are the lionesses. She said.

Lisa Christoffersen

Lisa Christoffersen is a motorsport enthusiast, founder of Kenya’s only Female Rally team – Lioness Rally, and interior designer. The mother of 2 describes herself as a lover of life with her name being the acronym of her life mantra – Life Is So Amazing.

In regards to the show, Lisa notes that she is the peacemaker. “I am always the one standing in between the ladies when they’re arguing or when there’s drama going on, and trying to calm down one or two of the ladies,”
