The New Star In “Cats” Francesca Hayward Was Born In Nairobi

It’s not something that has hit the Kenyan trending lists yet but it might soon.

Other than being Britains most sort after ballerina, Francesca Hayward is the fresh face in Hollywood movie ‘Cats’ that includes a list of other stars such as Taylor Swift, Jennifer Hudson and Idris Elba.

But what many don’t know yet is that she was actually born in Nairobi in 1992.

Hayward’s mother is Kenyan while her dad is British. She lived in Kenya for only two years before she moved in with her grandparents in West Sussex, south of England.

The English dancer holds the highest rank in Britain’s largest ballet company and has made cameos in performances such as Juliet in “Romeo and Juliet”, Princess Aurora and Princess Florine in “Sleeping Beauty”, “The Nutcracker” among others.

Cats trailer dropped on Thursday giving fans the first look of the live-action adaptation of the Andrew Lloyd-Webber musical.

Despite having big names such as Elba, James Corden, Ian McKellen, Jason Derulo, Judi Dench among others, Twitter hated it.

Many took to social media to mock the movie saying it was a letdown. The director, Tom Hooper, lauded the movie’s use of “digital fur technology” to create “the most perfect covering of fur” but it seems fans hated the technology.
