The Kenya Film Commission is officially recognized by the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences to set up an Oscars Selection Committee from Industry Associations & Guilds tasked to receive and vet submissions for the Best International Feature Film Award on behalf of Kenyan filmmakers.
The committee, therefore, is welcoming submissions for the 93rd edition of the Annual Oscars under the category of Best International Feature Film Award. Each country is allowed to submit only one film for this category.
Comprised of seasoned film industry players such as Film Producer and Actress Krysteene Savane, Filmmaker Alamin Virani Elchie, Line Producer Fatma Wandia, Writer Serah Mwihaki, Veteran Filmmaker Albert Wandago, Film Lecturer Wycliffe Philip Buhere, Writer Guild Operation Manager Patricia Mataga, Game Designer and Animator Dennis Mbuthia, Film Director Mwendwa Mutua and award-winning Impact Producer Emily Wanja the committee hopes to take the best submission from the entries to the final Oscar nominations list.
The deadline for submission Tuesday 27th October 2020 5 pm. The committee requires all the submissions to be done via hand delivery at the Kenya Film Commission Offices. The entry package should contain a signed introductory cover letter, a printed and completed checklist with supporting documents, and the film in DVD and DCP formats.
