Kenya joins the rest of the world to experience a gadget that not only keeps you connected but reminds you to take a moment to appreciate art.
The fashion and art scene in Kenya is currently thriving with the rise of lifestyle events such as paint and sips, festivals and other social occasions that not only help us unwind but are a key part of the creative economy.
Two months ago, during summer for some parts of the world, TECNO announced its partnership with the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, introducing the CAMON 19 Pro Mondrian. In Africa, we caught news of it during the Nigeria Launch at the “Tech meets Art” in partnership with the African Artists Foundation (AAF).

Inspired by a Dutch artist Piet Mondrian who like many artists tried new things and with time settled on a style that he is now renowned for decades later. Mondrian’s art is taken to the next level by science and tech with the TECNO CAMON 19 Pro Mondrian Edition. This was a dope tribute to Mondrian on his 150th birthday.
The TECNO CAMON series is a stylish and effective gadget known for its camera capabilities. It now has an artsy upgrade that is needed to complement a vibrant mood or personality you need always if not once in a while.
“We’ve taken everything our users love about CAMON series – great camera, stylish look and super thin bezel – and created a smartphone experience that delivers a truly one-of-a-kind aesthetic never before seen on a mobile device,” said Lucia Liu, Chief Brand Officer, TECNO
The back cover on the Mondrian edition uses “sunlight drawing” technology to allow the phone to change colours in sunlight – creating a device that is both artistic and intuitive. It is the world’s first smart device that does that.
Like primary colours, which is key to one of the 20th century’s greatest artists’ style, our visual sense is at the core of our being. We always talk about a pop of colour or want to incorporate it in our outfits, whether it’s in our sneakers, crocs, or notebooks. It is great to have a device that does this intuitively.
