Spring Into Style With Top Kenyan Fashion Designers

Yet another date to add to Kenya’s fashion calendar.

Talent from across the country is set to be showcased at the “Spring into Style” Dinner and Show at The Lord Erroll on the 13th of May.

The event will feature both established as well as rising stars of the industry, and will include names such as Deepa Dosaja, who recently presented her “My Flowers” Collection at the New York Fashion Week, as well as dressing Lupita Nyong’o.

Sally Karago – the chair of the Association of Fashion Designers of Kenya will be displaying her fashion as well. Her collections have been presented in London, New York and South Africa.

Aprelle Duany, who left a prominent corporate career to start her luxury leather brand Aprelleduany. Last year, she showcased at the Award-winning Nolcha platform for emerging designers at New York Fashion Week and was a HEVA Fund Recipient.

And decadence will be the name of the game on the day. The menu centers around a gourmet four-course dinner including caviar and decadent chocolate.

As the evening evolves, Mochez models will take to the catwalk in designs from the latest collections of Kenyan clothing and accessory designers.

Pop Up shops will be open to the public from morning and into the evening of the event – where you can purchase what you see.

And it’s all for a food cause: a portion of ticket sales will go towards the Human Needs Project in Kibera, whose objective is to provide basic services including laundry, showers, clean drinking water, toilets, high-speed internet and classrooms, to Kibera residents.

And Kibera will be represented by musical acts who will take to the stage at the fashion event.
