Sophia Wanuna, has been designated as the Deputy Director and Head of Public Affairs and Corporate Communications for the Judicial Service Commission (JSC), according to a statement issued on Thursday by the JSC.
Wanuna, the former KTN news anchor, announced her exit from the media station two weeks ago, joining a flurry of other media personalities that are currently ditching media for government jobs.
The JSC further stated that they were encouraged by Wanuna’s wealth of experience in the area of communications.
Her appointment comes two weeks after she left a local media station where she served as Deputy Managing Editor.
“Judicial Service Commission is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms Sphia Wanuna as the Deputy Director and Head of public affairs and Corporate Communications at the JSC. The appointment took effect on 29th, April, 2023,” read part of the statement.
Wanuna celebrated the new role saying that she was more than grateful for the new chapter.
“As I celebrate my birthday today, my heart is full. I appreciate all the wonderful colleagues I had the privilege to work with as a journalist. Grateful for those who have watched me over the years. For the hundreds that I hosted on TV, asanteni sana. A New Chapter now begins,” she said.
