Former Nairobi Governor’s daughter Saumu Mbuvi has joined the list of female celebrities interested in joining politics.
Saumu publicly announced her interest during an interview with Radio Jambo as she revealed the motivation behind her decision to vie for Nairobi woman representative seat in 2022.
According to her, the inspiration was drawn from her father’s political journey and she described him as a mentor.
“I want to join politics like my dad and actually, I will vie for woman representative the next General Election,” she said.
Speaking on her fears, Saumu further explains why she works so hard saying that she fears being broke.
Some of the things she will prioritize if she gets the position include mental health and ensuring that sanitary pads are freely accessible.
“I will make sure mental health is taught in all schools. We do not want to have these cases of children killing parents or each other.” She said
“Sanitary pads have to be given out for free. I will basically do things that will be of help to the girls, which will be a good thing.” She added
Other than Saumu Mbuvi, other female celebrities who have expressed similar interests include Betty Kyallo and Jackie Maribe.
