Sister Duo Angela Okutoyi and Roselinda Asumwa Win Big At Rwanda Open Championship

In a sport with one of the most famous sisters, Serena and Venus Williams, sister duo Angella Okutoyi and Roselinda Asumwa are becoming a notable name in the Tennis world too.

The sisters took over Rwanda Open 2022 winning in doubles 6-1, 6-0 against Tanzanian third seeds Mao and Ester Nankulange.

Angella Okutoyi Wins Both Doubles and Singles Rwanda Open Championship

18-year-old Kenyan Tennis sensation Angella Okutoyi also clinched the Singles title.

The win came after Okutoyi beat her Sister Roselinda Asumwa (2-0) 6-1, 6-2.

The former African Under-18 champion walked away with $2,500 an equivalent of over 300,000 Kenyan shillings.

The sisters who were elated by their win took to social media to share the milestone;

“RWANDA OPEN CHAMP, both singles and doubles with my sis Rossy Asumwa.” Posted Okutoyi.

The younger sister Roselinda also posted;

“Am really happy to reach finals in the Rwanda Open, and also doubles partnering with my sister Angela Okutoyi.”

Speaking on playing with and against her sister Okutoyi said it was a special moment.

“The feeling of winning the Rwanda Open title was great. It feels good and special also because it has been long since I played against my sister,”

The sisters last met during the ITF/CAT Eastern African Junior Championship at Nairobi Club in January 2018.
