Showmax Original ‘Single Kiasi’ Confirmed For Season 2

After a successful run of the first season, Showmax gives Kenyan drama series Single Kiasi a nod for another season. The new season is confirmed for a premiere in 2023 and production is currently underway. Single Kiasi’s storyline revolves around the love lives and careers of 3 Nairobi women Sintamei, Mariah, and Rebecca.  

According to Showmax, season 2 picks up a couple of months after the shocking end of season 1 finale that threw uncertainty over their love lives. In addition, this season explores a couple of transformational events in the characters’ lives and their effect on the character’s friendships.

Sharing her excitement for the new season, Single Kiasi director Grace Kahaki said, “Single Kiasi season 1 surpassed all our expectations by being one of the most-watched titles on Showmax for 13 weeks straight. The show is an absolute testament that Kenyans want and support good local content where they see themselves reflected. Single Kiasi Season 2 Theme and Cast

Several themes such as loyalty, forgiveness, and self-acceptance are the highlight of the upcoming season. The show also promises to have exciting adventures, glamour, and humorous encounters with an assortment of vibrant new and returning cast.

Gathoni Mutua, Minne Kariuki, and Faith Kibathi are reprising their roles as leads Sintamei, Mariah, and Rebecca respectively. Also returning are Michael Munyoki (A Grand Little Lie), Brian Abajah (Sincerely Daisy), Kevin Maina, Walter Bruce Opiyo, Derek Bbanga, and Maggie Kiundi.

On the other hand, the new cast members include Grace Wacuka (A New Christmas) as Olivia, a new female lead and Sintamei’s wealthy friend. Fidel Maithya (Selina), Quincy Rapando (Zora), Ian Mbugua (Chaguo), Mufasa Kibet aka Mufasa Poet (Crime and Justice), and Ciku Shire (Famous).
