Shiksha Arora, Fred Indimuli, Eric Njoka Among Top Journalist Affected By K24 Layoffs

K24 TV station has reportedly fired its entire newsroom team in the recent mass sacking at the company. This comes weeks after the employees took the media house to court over a complaint on a 20%-50% pay cut notice that had been issued to them.

It was a victory for the employees after the court ruled in their favor demanding that the company should pay their full April and May salaries.

Despite the win, Kenyans on Monday 22nd June woke up to the news of a mass firing that is believed to have affected the entire newsroom team except for two members from the production team who allegedly accepted the pay cut terms.

Sources reveal that the employees learnt of their firing after receiving a text message from their HR manager Maureen Wandera.

Some of the journalists who were affected by the layoffs include award-winning journalist Shiksha Arora, Eric Njoka, Fred Indimuli (who formerly worked at Citizen Tv), Isabella Kituri, Karen Kibet, among others.

Taking to social media, the former K24 employees sent messages confirming their exit from the station.

The recent firing comes after the exit of top news anchor Betty Kyallo who parted ways with the station.

In their official social media pages, K24 unveiled a new team that will be replacing the outgoing journalist.

The media personalities who will be taking over the news team include 3 journalists poached from Switch Tv; Wanjiru Maina, Daniel Kituu, Nicholas Nduti, Diana Rose, and Ahmed Abuller. K24 also hired a journalist from TV47, Allan Owino as part of their editorial team.
