All Set For The Premiere Of Coke Studio Africa?

The show has been taping for a few months now – but we finally gear up to see the fruit of all the labour. Coke Studio Africa is finally winging it onto our TV screens – and the action kicks off with a glitzy invite-only party set to take place this Sunday at the Kiza Lounge.

Your first chance to catch the action will be on Citizen TV – and with the amount of energy that the artists have been showcasing, as well as an expanded roster, this might be the best edition yet.

Coke Studio is about how to shine a light on African talent given its diversity – and one of the big deals about this year’s show will be that diversity in terms of production.

Heavyweights that will help to tease the fusion include:

Nahreel (Tanzania), Sketchy Bongo (South Africa), Gemini Major (Malawi/South Africa), Masterkraft (Nigeria) and DJ Maphorisa (South Africa).

How music and sound engineers will be able to get the best out of talented acts such as Rwanda’s Bruce Melodie and Khaligraph, or Nigeria’s Yemi Alade and Youssoupha is the reason why this show has managed to remain so relevant.

Jason Derulo is this year’s major international act, and the Global Fusion Edition should be a pretty good look at well.
