Sauti Sol’s Plans To Open A Music Academy

With all the success they have, it’s only fair that Sauti Sol sets up a forum where othe (aspiring) artists who are on the come up can learn about making good music and the business side of it so that they can earn a living from their talents just like the members of the award-winning group are.

The group of four gentlemen is set to open a music academy in Nairobi before the year ends at a location yet to be disclosed. At the school, students will learn s0und engineering, song writing and music production.

There will also be a department of scouting for talent and overseeing the artistic development of artistes and songwriters.

It gets better. They’re also set to launch their record label where they will sign and mentor new talent.

Sounds like a good way of giving back to the society, right?

Marek Fuchs, Sauti Sol’s manager, says that the band is planning a  tour that will kick off in Dar Es Salaam later this month (July 30) and then stops in Kigali, Kampala and Bujumbura. Soon after, the hope to tour West Africa.
