Even though most artists including Sauti Sol were forced to cancel some of the shows they had been booked for as a result of COVID-19, the band has been lucky to be listed among headlining artists to perform in virtual concerts.
One of their most recent is their performance at Essense Festival and the virtual experience of their recently released album ‘midnight train’.
The music group is now set to perform In Portugal early next year after they were confirmed among artists who will grace the next edition of the Afro Nation Festival.
Afro Nation is a Portuguese Afrobeats, hip-hop, dancehall, bashment, and R&B festival held each summer on the beautiful Praia da Rocha beach, just south of Portimão.
Sauti will perform alongside African acts Diamond Platnumz, Davido, Burna Boy, Yemi Alade, 2baba, Rema, Sho Madjozi, and Patoranking as revealed on a poster doing rounds on social media.
According to the organizers, the festival’s 2020 Edition was set to be held on 17th, 18th, and 19th July 2020 but was instead postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic and will take place on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd July 2021. They also assured fans who had already bought their tickets will be able to use the same for their entry of the rescheduled show.
Apart from the main festival program, other activities which the festival-goers will enjoy include boat parties and private beach parties, and weekend experience with some of the top-notch DJ’s.
