Singer Crystal Asige is no longer under Sauti Sol’s record label Sol Generation.
The singer, who was among 6 others signed by the label, parted ways in what Bien Aime termed as a complicated relationship.
“It was an amicable break and we are glad we gave her a platform,” said Bien in an interview with Kiss 100.
“We are not working with Crystal anymore and this came with a lot of complications. But we are glad we worked with her, everyone knows her now.
Sol Generation was officially launched last year after the release of “Extravaganza” which featured all the signed members then; Cyrstal, BenSoul, Kaskazini (a Kenyan urban-fusion trio formed by Chris, Ywaya and Israel) and Nviiri.
Bien after the launch revealed he met Crystal 10 years ago but lost contacts till they reconnected again.
“Crystal and I met 10 years ago during an event but we lost contact thereafter. A few years ago I was looking for songwriters and someone introduced me to her saying she is a good songwriter,” Bien said.
In his recent interview, Bien said they are now looking for someone to fill her spot yes, but she shouldn’t be just any replacement. Talent is a must.
“Will are looking for proper female artists, not just replacements,” said Bien.
“Right now I’m in the course of interviewing different girls and we hope we can get a few.”
