Sauti Sol Joins President Paul Kagame in Kigali’s ‘Car Free Day’ After Gorilla Naming Ceremony

Over the weekend Sauti Sol joined Rwanda’s President Paul Kagame in Kigali’s ‘Car Free Day’ after naming a Gorilla family during the 18th Kwita Izina ceremony.

Sharing the experience on Instagram, the group posted;

“Gotta love Rwanda man!

So today we were invited to walk alongside H.E the president Paul Kagame.”

‘CAR FREE DAY’ in Kigali

Speaking further about the day, the group explained;

“This is ‘CAR FREE DAY’ in Kigali and it happens twice a month from 7 am to 10 am.

The roads are blocked and citizens are encouraged to walk and Run in order to promote a healthier lifestyle. And the people actually participate. How cool is that?”

The group suggested Kenya tries, ‘Car free day’ in Kenya as well.

“Umm Kenya si we try this even once, ama namna gani?”

Sauti Sol Names Gorilla family in Rwanda’s Kwita Izina

The Musical band were among dignitaries naming Gorilla families living in Volcanoes Park in this year’s Kwita Izina.

Sharing more insights on the event, the group wrote;

“We had the great honor of being the first ever to name a whole Gorilla family during the 18th Kwita Izina ceremony.

Joined by some of our idols Didier Drogba, Gilberto Silva, Juan Pablo Sorin we couldn’t be happier to be part of history.” They wrote.
