Kenyan boy band Sauti Sol will not be touring the United States as planned because of a scheduling mishap.
Bien, Savara, Chimano and Polycarp were expected to visit New York in a few weeks but had to opt out because they are involved in the production of their next album and the timelines were clashing.
They however plan to have an extensive one in July when they’ll be in the US that will see them compensate.
“To our fans in New York, we sadly have to cancel our show this coming March as we’re bogged down working on our latest album and the timelines just don’t seem to align. We are planning on coming for an extensive tour in the US during the summer this year, starting with the Essence Festival in July. Please keep an eye out for our tour schedule! We can’t wait to see you and make up for the unfortunate movement in our dates,” wrote Sauti Sol.
Still on tight schedules, the band has managed to find time to launch their new record label Soul Generation. The band is trying to spread its wings and house local talent as they had promised several years ago.
Bensoul is the first act to be signed by the new label, with “Lucy” being his debut. Lucy, as per Bensoul, was inspired by a series of true events.
“Lucy is very relatable to most young people—as it tells the story of a young man who is unsure about his position in the relationship but won’t stop loving.” he said.
