Sarah Hassan Talks Balancing Social Media, Mental Health

Renowned Kenyan actress Sarah Hassan recently opened up about how she navigates social media, emphasizing the importance of maintaining her mental health and overall well-being in the digital realm.

With a substantial following across various platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok, Sarah Hassan acknowledges the significance of setting boundaries and taking breaks from social media when necessary.

“Your page is your space to curate what brings you joy. If someone doesn’t resonate with that, it’s okay to prioritize your happiness,” she asserts.

Despite boasting over 1.3 million followers on Instagram, 1.3 million on Facebook, and more than 615,000 on TikTok, Sarah Hassan emphasizes the need for balance in social media usage.

“I’ve adopted different patterns of engagement. Sometimes, I’ll disconnect for a while to reconnect with myself, or limit my time online to a few hours per day. It’s all about finding equilibrium,” she explains.

Addressing the prevalent issue of portraying only the highlights on social media, Sarah Hassan reminds her audience that what they see online is often a curated version of reality.

“People tend to share their victories and joyful moments, rarely their struggles or failures. It’s essential to remember that everyone has their battles, even if they don’t showcase them online,” she reflects.

Furthermore, Sarah stresses the importance of kindness in digital interactions, highlighting that appearances can be deceiving.

“Behind the façade of happiness on social media, many are battling their own demons. It’s crucial to approach each other with empathy and compassion,” she urges.

In a time where social media’s influence is profound, Sarah Hassan’s insights serve as a reminder to prioritize mental well-being and authenticity in the digital sphere.
