Sam Ogina has become the latest journalist to dump the newsroom for a job in the government.
The Senior political reporter left Royal Media Services (RMS) after more than five years in the Kenyan media powerhouse.
Sam Ogina Joins Parliamentary Service Commission as a Senior Communications Officer
Sam Ogina joins the Parliamentary Service Commission (PSC) as a senior communications officer, attached to the National Assembly.
He will be working in the office of the Leader of the Majority in the National Assembly, Kimani Ichung’wah.
The seasoned reporter worked closely with his former Senior Editor Francis Gachuri who also left RMS in March 2023.
Ogina covered major political events, including, campaign rallies in the run-up to the 2022 General Election at Citizen TV.

Previously Ogina worked at Kenya Television Network (KTN News) for more than five years, hosting a weekly political show where he reviewed the leadership and development in the scene.
Sam Ogina joins a long list of journalists who joined PSC or the Executive Office of the President including Hussein Mohamed who serves as State House Spokesperson.
In the previous administration season journalist Kanze Dena also left Citizen TV to join Uhuru administration as head of the President’s Strategic Communication Unit.
