Let’s face it, foundation is one of, if not the best makeup inventions there is. Right? Whether you are rocking a minimalistic look or your face is beat for the gods; your skin has to be looking great.
One brand that our Kenyan beauty gurus have put us on to lately is Clinique. After attending the launch of the customised Clinique ID products we were excited to hear about the Even Better range of foundations. This best-selling range includes these three different formulations: Even BetterTM Broad Spectrum SPF 15, Even Better RefreshTM Hydrating & Repairing and Even Better GlowTM Light Reflecting.
And because picking a foundation for your skin involves key elements such as shade, coverage and undertones- we appreciate the fact that every time Clinique launches a new product they have experts to help you try them out- especially at Linton’s Beauty World where we went.
Here’s how our “swatch” experience with skincare and beauty expert Gladwell Murtathe at Linton’s Junction went.
Gladwell was kind enough to quickly take us through the Clinique Skincare range before delving into the foundations. She explains that the moisturiser, toner and cleanser formula you use all depends on whether you have Dry Combination or Combination to Oily Skin. You should also look for formulas that address specific skin problems you might have such as dark spots. The same applies to choosing your foundation.
Spot the Difference
After prepping and priming the skin Gladwell applies each of the foundations on one part of the face. As she does this, we are blown away by just how easy it is to spot the difference between the Even Better Refresh and Even Better Glow.
How do you like it?
To glow or not to glow? Admittedly, this may depend on either your skin type or mood. Our model Wendy chose to go for the Even Better Refresh which gives a radiant and dewy look. The specific issues the Refresh addresses are repairing dry lines by smoothening them out and hydrating your skin. Wendy’s shade is Mahogany.
The Even Better Glow, on the other hand, brightens your skin by making it more luminous. Lastly, the Even Better gives you an immediate even skin look. The beauty of this range we realize is that they each solve an immediate need your skin has while working to improve other issues as you use them over time. They are all sweat and humidity-resistant (we are looking forward to testing that out at the Coast), even out your skin over time and have SPF.
It’s honestly refreshing that we saw each of the products work just how the info on it said it would and we look forward to seeing if the longterm results promised will come to be as well.
