Award-winning rapper Khaligraph Jones has come out to silence trolls comparing his music performance to Tanzanian artists.
Of late, there has been a supremacy battle among artists instigated by Diamond and Harmonize where the number of views per hour has been the determining factor.
While Diamond Platnumz initially held the record, Harmonize surpassed him after the release of his song featuring Awilo Longomba dubbed ‘Attitude’. The song amassed 200,000 views within an hour of its release and 4 million views on Youtube in two days.
The numbers are pretty impressive and have been trending on social media for the past two days.
Khaligraph, who released his latest track dubbed ‘Luku’ a day ago came out strongly to defend his genre and shame trolls who tried to compare his numbers to Diamond’s.
“LUKU DOING A QUARTER MILL, Msikuje apa Kuniambia Sijui Akina Harmonize na Wasafi Wanapatanga izi Numbers In 2hrs Hours, This is Hip Hop Bana, you Have To respect The OG, Best Rapper in Africa,” said Khaligraph.
While Kenyan artists haven’t reached those heights, they are doing better by the day and Khaligraph’s numbers are actually record-breaking in the country.
