Born Okemwa Rajiv, 22 year old Raj started his music career in 2013 while pursuing a degree in Economics at the University of Nairobi. He went ahead to release his first mixtape Friday After Class in 2014, under his newly formed record label, MusicBank. Raj is the artist responsible for the hit song, Ndizi Flow which, I would say, is his claim to fame. He then released Obe Baba which was a fan favorite but even bigger, was the remix to the track, which featured Norway based Kenyan rapper, STL. Using Kisii, Swahili and English in his music, Raj, who also produces all his music, he says, is applauded for being a Hip Hop artist who dares to be different.
The young rapper had been releasing a series of tracks under a project he called BAE (Before All Ends) Tuesday, which was basically him releasing new tracks every Tuesday, tracks he would later compile and release as a project which is set to be released in its entirety on December 10th at Uhuru Gardens.
He already has some acts slotted to appear on stage with Amina Abdi-Rabar being one of the MCs and Muthoni The Drummer Queen set for a performance.
