Radio Royalties Shaffie Weru and Kamene Goro Make a Blazing Comeback with Joint NRG Radio Show

After taking a hiatus from the airwaves, radio veterans Shaffie Weru and Kamene Goro are back with a bang, set to co-host the NRG Transit show on Fridays between 3 pm and 7 pm. The duo will be joined by DJ Pierra Makena for the four-hour show.

Kamene, who shared the exciting news on her Instagram page, expressed her enthusiasm about the new gig, asking her fans if they are ready for the unbeatable trio.

“Good morning my loves. Shaffie, Pierra, do you think they are ready for this one,” Kamene announced.

Fans can tune in to the show live on NRG Radio’s radio waves, streaming services, or on the station’s website.

The show will take over from Mwalimu Rachel, who previously hosted the NRG Transit show solo, alongside DJ Xclusive. Shaffie and Kamene are taking the reins and set to deliver an unforgettable listening experience to their fans.

After a controversial exit from Homeboys Radio in March 2021, Weru took a break from radio and delved into branding and event management, even working for Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja for free. He was later appointed as the Head of Events and Branding for Nairobi County. In January 2023, he launched a successful podcast titled “Shafted,” which featured guests who had suffered from their own actions and behavior.

On the other hand, Kamene, who started her career as a news anchor and presenter at Ebru TV, joined NRG Radio in 2017 as a presenter alongside Andrew Kibe before moving to Kiss 100. In January 2023, she left the station, taking a three-month break before making her triumphant return to the airwaves.

With their impressive resumes and undeniable chemistry, Shaffie Weru and Kamene Goro are set to take the radio industry by storm, entertaining listeners with their witty banter and eclectic music selection.
