Pulse Music Video Awards 2020 Nominees Finally Out!

Pulse Music Video Awards 2020 unveiled the nominees yesterday at the Standard Group Headquarters along Mombasa Road. This will be the 6th edition of the award which seeks to celebrate Kenyan music talent such as musicians, producers, video directors and vixens among others.

The unveiling came after a rigorous vetting exercise of over 1000 video submissions. Under the theme ‘Owning the Virtual Space in Kenyan Music,’  this edition seeks to acknowledge the effect of COVID-19 on the growth of the digital aspect of showbiz which was evident in virtual events and TikTok dance challenges among others.

PMVA 2020 has 17 categories up for contest included the newly added Best Virtual Concert of the Year, Best Live Deejay Mix of the Year, Best Music Video Dance Challenge of the Year and Best Live Virtual Band of the Year categories.

The nominations list is a star-studded affair with Norway based Gengetone group Matata leading with 4 nominations. Nadia Mukami is the most nominated female artiste in this edition with 3 nods. Other nominees include Bahati, Femi One, Mejja, Muthoni Drummer Queen, Benzema, Noti Flow, H_ART The Band, Sauti Sol, Khaligraph among others. PMVA 2020 will culminate into a virtual award gala that is scheduled for 17th December 2020.
