Africa’s premier influencer award show the Pulse Influencer Awards 2023 nomination phase is now open to the public. Under the theme “The Golden Era – Bold & Elegant,” this is the 3rd edition of the prestigious award.
Created by media company Pulse Live, these awards celebrate the digital creativity, innovation, and community-building efforts of African influencers. These awards serve as a recognition of individuals who effectively utilize social media to distribute value, share ideas, and foster large, engaged communities.
Pulse Influencer Awards 2023 has some significant changes. The categories have been streamlined from 29 to 24 to emphasize the core areas of influence. Additionally, the award has introduced an exciting new award category called the “Next Gen Influencer of the Year.” This category recognizes emerging digital creators and their efforts.
Just like the previous year, the Pulse Influencer Awards 2023, will be held simultaneously in all the six Pulse markets. These include Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Senegal, Uganda, and Côte d’Ivoire. Fans can nominate their favorite influencers on the official Pulse Live website before the 6th August 2023 deadline.
Pulse Influencer Awards 2023 Timelines
The online voting phase commences on September 5, 2023, after the nominees’ announcement. While there is a seven-member jury with different experts in the digital field, the public vote remains of utmost importance to this process. The winners will be awarded at a gala ceremony scheduled for October 7, 2023.
Speaking about the event, Judysheila Mugo, Director of Content at Pulse Kenya, emphasized that the Pulse Influencer Awards have always been about acknowledging the hard work of influencers. She added that Pulse serves as a bridge between influencers and various brands that collaborate with them. This makes the annual award even more fulfilling for the recipients.
Last year’s Pulse Influencer Awards witnessed overwhelming participation with 864,768 votes across various categories, underscoring the vibrancy of the Kenyan digital community. Among the remarkable winners of the previous edition are Just Ivy, Dennis Ombachi, Murugi Munyi, and Nikita Kering.
For the upcoming event, Pulse Kenya anticipates an even grander celebration, with increased audience engagement, influencer involvement, and partnership with renowned brands. The Pulse Influencer Awards 2023 promises to be an extravagant celebration, featuring glamour, food and drinks, exceptional content creation, and unparalleled networking opportunities.
