President William Ruto is set to attend the Turkana Tourism and Cultural Festival held at the Ekalees Cultural Center.
The event serves as a unifying platform for the Ateker community, which spans across Kenya, Uganda, Ethiopia, and South Sudan.
Its primary objective is to foster peace and collaboration among the county’s various communities.
President Ruto arrived in Turkana County on Wednesday evening, where he briefly visited Lodwar Town, engaging with local residents.
During his visit, he reassured the community that all stalled development projects in the region would be resumed and completed in the coming months.
He acknowledged that insecurity has been a significant obstacle to the progress of these initiatives.
The President emphasized the government’s commitment to ensuring peace prevails in Turkana County, recognizing that it is an essential foundation for sustainable development.
