Oscars Selection Committee Kenya Invites Filmmakers To Submit Entries

The Oscars Selection committee Kenyan has put out a call for Kenyan entries for Best International Feature film at the 2020 Academy awards.

The committee is inviting Kenyan filmmakers to submit their feature films for consideration for the 92nd Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Science Awards in the Best International Feature Film Category. The film has to be 40 minutes motion picture produced outside the USA.

Only one film per country can qualify and the film selected in Kenya will be considered as nominated. Nominees will then be eligible to compete for the Oscar.

Entries which will be scrutinized under the eligibility rules should be hand-delivered to the Kenya Film Commission office by Monday, 9th September 2019.

Some of the rules include, the film must have been released for theatre in Kenya for a period of at least 7 days not earlier than 1st October 2018 and not later than 8th September 2019.

Citizens should be represented in two categories as Producers, directors or writers. Also, citizens should be represented in cinematographer, editor, Art Director, costume design, music composer, sound mixer among other roles.
