The annual Ongea Eastern Africa Music Summit Summit returns for its 2022 edition this month. Happening from Wednesday 28th to 30th Friday, this will be the 7th edition of the popular summit. Ongea Eastern Africa Music Summit offers a convenient public forum for entertainment industry stakeholders to network and share solutions to the challenges affecting the sector.
According to the organizers, this year’s edition is packed with a lot of informative and entertaining activities. These include 9 industry panels and several live showcases. Under the theme ‘Embracing The New Normal,’ the virtual event starts from 9:30 am to 6:30 pm on all days.
Some of the topics up for discussion include the role of music export offices, music events, the evolution of African music, and music licensing among others. The panels feature several industry experts such as Yakwetu co-founder Mike Strano, IP Lawyer Liz Lenjo, Kendi Art Founder Christine Ng’ang’a, and Heva Fund LLP Wakiuru Njuguna to mention a few.
