Omarion in Nairobi For Diamond Platnumz Album Launch

He’s back.

Just a few months since his last visit to the 254, RnB vocalist and former member of the multi platininum selling group B2K is back in Kenya – this time to show some love at the album launch of Tanzania’s biggest musical superstar Diamond.

The 19 track album is titled ‘A Boy From Tandale’ and features names such as Vanessa Mdee, Grammy Award winning reggae band Morgan Heritage, Rick Ross, Ne-Yo, Tiwa Savage, and of course Omarion.

Not too shabby.

Diamond says that the entire project is a tribute to where he started in Tandale – which is a slum in Tanzania: “It is where I was raised, with a lot of challenges, but also where I formed my closest bonds with family and friends who to this day remain my support system. It is the place where amidst all the poverty, I discovered my talent”.

SONGA by Safaricom has partnered with top Tanzanian performer Diamond Platnumz to support the launch, and will be making it available from this Friday.

SONGA by Safaricom is a streaming service offering a range of music to consumers via a mobile app for Android devices. It curates, codifies and classifies vernacular, local music and international music with over two million songs from over 400,000 artistes, while also featuring a platform for artists to sell their music as well.
