Nviiri Celebrates International Women’s Day With Virtual Gig

Singer Nviiri the Storyteller on Tuesday 7 held a show in honor of International Women’s Day which is being celebrated today.

The ‘Pombe Sigara’ hitmaker held a virtual live stream performance at Snowball Industries studio, Red Hill.

The performance helped him share two songs from his upcoming album set for a later release this year he also sent flowers to the top five fans during the performance.

“Through his performance, he was also promoting Women’s Day in honour of the women in his life,” read a statement.

For his song ‘Party’, which pays homage to the journey he has been on over the last few years since he became one of Africa’s breakout stars, Nviiri said:

“This is arguably one of my favorite tracks I’ve worked on in a while because it’s a great example of the style of music I want to create more of,” he said at the time.

“As I step into this next phase of my career as an artist, I really want to produce more music that speaks to my lifestyle, professional experience, and spirituality. This song gives my fans a glimpse of what it’s like to be me, and I know they are gonna love it,” he concluded.

International Women’s Day is celebrated every year on March 8th to recognize and celebrate the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women around the world. It is also a day to raise awareness about gender inequality, advocate for women’s rights, and promote gender parity.

The theme for International Women’s Day 2023 is DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality,”. In the past, themes have focused on different aspects of women’s rights, such as “Women in leadership: Achieving an equal future in a COVID-19 world” in 2021 and “Balance for Better” in 2019.

International Women’s Day has been observed since the early 1900s, with the first gathering held in 1911.
