The voting period will remain open until 23:59 pm on 13th February 2023 and winners will be announced during the award ceremony, which will be held on 23rd February 2023 at The Kenya National Theatre.
KTA hosted its inaugural ceremony in 2022 and has since continued to engage with Kenyan theatre professionals in a bid to recognize and celebrate the outstanding achievements of individuals and organizations.
The nominees for the 2nd Kenya Theatre Awards were chosen by a 5-person jury made up of representatives and practitioners from academics, theatre, media, and the government.
The jury attended and watched all theatre shows that were submitted for award consideration. The nominees were selected from 100 theatre companies and 170 productions that took place in 2022.
Most of the productions were staged more than once, making up a total of 503 performances recorded by the Awards Secretariat.
