Something hot and sweet just dropped! Cedo, the celebrated Kenyan music producer has released his first single in collaboration with high school students. RISE, the song featuring students from Machakos Boys, was released on Friday.
Written by Oliver Mshaiza and Wisdom Wambua, students from the aforementioned school, the lyrics of the song are designed to remind Kenyans that when all is said and done, all we’ve got is each other.
Speaking of his experience in working with the school, Cedo says, “It’s astounding how much raw talent we have in schools. Working on this project was simply amazing!”
Even though the song is not about peaceful elections, Cedo could not have picked a better time to publish it given that peace will always be a welcome campaign in electioneering periods.
Machakos Boys High School’s principal, Mr. Indimuli Kahi, Music teacher Maxwell Mulinge and Band teacher Mr. Stephen Anzaya Aboka worked with the gifted producer and the students in the school band and choir to develop the masterpiece.
The video version is available on YouTube at Foxton Media Channel, the company that partnered with CKL to produce the visual version while audio versions are available on a host of platforms including iTunes, Spotify, Audiomack, Deezer, Amazon and Google Play, just to mention.
