Actors Raymond Ofula, Neomi Ngang’a, Peter Kamau and Nick Mutuma have been picked as judges and mentors for a new reality TV show following a StarTimes Kenya and the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Radio and Television collaboration.
The development will see the first-ever Sino-Africa reality television show highlighting deep cross-cultural exchange meant to build local creatives and content developers.
The show is designed to specifically search for the next outstanding movie superstar.
The project has been funded by the Chinese Government and will have the three renowned actors pick and mentor up-and-coming movie actors who will be featured in an international movie.
“Congratulations to the shortlisted actors who will feature in the television show, as we mark the 5thanniversary of our TV series Africa exhibition.
“We are impressed with the warm reception and adaptability and look forward to growing our audience in Kenya,” said The Deputy Director of the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television Xu Liquo.
The twelve episodes of the show, “Next Superstar”, will broadcast on StarTimes Sino Drama channel from December 8.
Actors James Webbo, Ellah Maina and Faiz Francis Ouma were shortlisted from a pool of over 100 participants who auditioned for the show who will now form the main cast.
